Obstacles Or Difficult To Weight Loss
There are many reasons why a client may be Not loosing Weight. These reasons often related NUTRITION, EXERCISE, and/ BEHAVIOR. If you and your client have established rapport, you can more defectively help your client determine possible reason for a lack of Weight loss. Use this chart to Guide you in your Exploration of possible reason for lack of WEIGHT LOSS.   

THE MAJOR OBJECTIVES OF EXPLORING THE POSSIBLE REASON ARE TO :-
01. Validate the clients absence of Weight loss.
02. Reassure the clients that he/she will be successful.
03. Make the client feel good about her/himself and accomplishment thus far.
04. Review the possible obstacles to or reason for absence of Weight loss.
05. Assist the client to select an option or action for the client to take immediately that is review portion, switch to a new plan. Change Exercise.
06. Help the client to be motivated to follow the program.


Use the table on the following pages as soon as Weight loss ceases to ascertain the reason’s :-
A Patient who doesn’t lose weight is one who tends not to return the following week.
Begin by asking the question under each category. “What did you go differently this week” ? This will help you get started.
Then examine the obstacles under each category using the funnel technique. Ask questions to help your Patient select the solution that will work best for her/him.

Note:-Certain, client may be experience temporary fluids retention during weight loss. Remind clients that the scale indicates total Kilos only and it can’t distinguish between water retention and fat loss.


Remember, to that muscle weight more than Fat and that a client who is maintaining the weight but loosing inches may be gaining lean tissue and loosing fat tissue. Although the scales reflect no change. The clients body composition may have changed in a  positive way to remotive client. Emphzise previous week weight loss and instead. Focus on the positive healthy behaviors learned. Health improvements which may have occurred (eg-decreased blood pressure, lower cholesterol) increased self steam, which are not reflected by the scales.

If all the obstacles have been exhausted and or the clients weight remains stable. Than the client may be experiencing weight PLATEAU
